I decided to look for some reviews of it to see if anyone felt the same way that I did, and, oh yay, I found YOU! Slow, depressing, interesting, learned some stuff about Turkey, glad it's over with. I did like the first book of his that I read, Istanbul. It's his memoir. I'm slogging my way through The Black Book now. Slow going. I do really want to get back to it and finish it (though by now I think I will have to start over). I want to read SomeThing by him this year.
